The covers of the book are made of vegetable tanned calf leather, which is hand dyed with water-based and toxic free dyes and has been polished with a special kind of lacquer made of beeswax. Since it’s genuine vegetable tanned leather, there might be natural nicks or scratches on the surface, that do not affect our products’ good quality.
Our books have been bound with great care. All the bands used for binding are also made of genuine leather, carefully chosen out to have the right kind of thickness and softness that would be suitable for binding. All the bands are carefully cut, dyed, polished and eventually glued – all by hand.
The book contains 224 pages (counted both sides, excluding end pages). The mould-made paper we use is made of 100% alpha cellulose. The paper won’t change its quality when exposed to light and is suitable for all kinds of pens, including gel and fountain pens. There are four blocks of papers, first and last one of them being wrapped inside end pages. All paper is hand torn.
